Special Pricing: Now On Sale For Just $1725

This Moab hiking trip is currently on sale for $1725. Whether you pay in full or place a deposit to reserve your spot, your total cost remains $1725.

That’s a strong value compared to similar guided hiking trips in Moab, where prices commonly start around $2045 and can exceed $3500 with larger national operators. One of the reasons we’re able to offer this trip at such a great value is simple—we’re a small, owner-operated company. Owners Emily and Dan personally guide this trip, which means you’re hiking with the people who built the business, planned the itinerary, and care deeply about every guest’s experience.

Fully Supported Arches National Park Hiking Trip - Moab, Utah

Experience the unforgettable landscapes of Arches National Park on this fully supported four-day hiking and camping adventure with Colorado Mountain Expeditions. This guided hiking trip is designed to showcase the very best of Arches, from world-famous natural stone arches to scenic desert trails winding through towering sandstone fins and expansive canyon viewpoints.

Arches is one of the most visually striking national parks in the United States, known for its dramatic red-rock scenery, incredible geology, and more than 2,000 natural stone arches. Despite its global reputation, the park is relatively compact compared to many other national parks, which makes it uniquely suited for a multi-day hiking adventure that truly explores the full range of its landscapes.

This trip was created because we simply love hiking in Arches. The park offers an unmatched combination of natural beauty, accessible trails, and diverse terrain. Over the course of several days, guests experience the park from multiple perspectives—visiting iconic destinations like Delicate Arch and exploring the scenic trail network of Devils Garden, along with quieter routes that reveal sweeping desert views and hidden corners of the park.

Because of the park’s manageable size and thoughtfully planned itinerary, guests have the rare opportunity to experience nearly the entire park in a single trip—something that is difficult to achieve in larger national parks.

You can review the full daily hiking plan, including mileage and elevation details, in the Schedule and Itinerary section below.

What Makes This Arches National Park Adventure Special

See the Full Variety of Landscapes in One Trip

Many visitors to Arches National Park see only a small portion of what the park has to offer. On this guided hiking adventure, guests explore a wide range of terrain—from towering sandstone arches and narrow canyon corridors to expansive desert plateaus and panoramic viewpoints. The itinerary is intentionally designed to showcase the diversity of the park while keeping each day engaging and rewarding.

Thanks to the park’s relatively compact layout, this trip allows hikers to experience more of Arches than most visitors ever do. Instead of rushing between viewpoints or spending time navigating logistics, guests enjoy a well-paced journey that highlights the park’s most memorable scenery.

Hike Light, Enjoy More

All daily hikes are completed with a light daypack while our guides manage transportation, logistics, and camp operations. Guests return to the same base camp each evening, creating a comfortable and consistent home base throughout the adventure.

This fully supported structure allows hikers to focus on the experience—taking photos, enjoying the scenery, and moving at a comfortable pace—without the stress of planning meals, coordinating transportation, or setting up a new campsite each day.

Comfortable Riverside Basecamp and Stargazing

Guests camp on scenic Bureau of Land Management land along the Colorado River just outside Moab, a designated International Dark Sky area known for exceptional stargazing. Evenings are relaxed and social, with time to unwind after a full day of hiking.

Our guides prepare fresh breakfasts and dinners each day, along with packed lunches built from high-quality ingredients. Dietary restrictions—including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options—are easily accommodated. The result is a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience that balances adventure with convenience.

Explore Iconic Trails and Hidden Gems

This trip blends the must-see highlights of Arches with lesser-known trails that offer quieter hiking experiences and spectacular views. Guests walk beneath massive stone arches, traverse rolling slickrock terrain, and discover scenic viewpoints that showcase the park’s unique geology.

Each day’s hike is carefully selected to provide variety, challenge, and unforgettable scenery while maintaining a safe and enjoyable pace for the group.

The Hiking Experience

This adventure focuses on experiencing the full range of landscapes that make Arches National Park so special. Guests hike through sandstone fins, along scenic ridgelines, and across open desert terrain while learning about the geology, ecology, and history of the region from experienced guides.

Daily hikes typically range from 8 to 14 miles, depending on conditions and group pace. The terrain includes well-established trails, rocky surfaces, and moderate elevation changes typical of desert hiking. Guides monitor weather conditions, manage group pacing, and provide support throughout the trip to ensure a safe and rewarding experience.

One of the biggest advantages of this basecamp-style adventure is the balance between active hiking and comfortable downtime. After each day’s hike, guests return to camp to relax, share stories, and prepare for the next day’s exploration.

This structure creates a steady rhythm that allows hikers to fully enjoy the experience while still covering a significant portion of the park.

Daily Schedule and Hiking Overview

Throughout this four-day adventure, guests will explore a wide variety of trails and viewpoints across Arches National Park. The itinerary is designed to showcase many of the park’s most famous landmarks while also visiting quieter areas that highlight the diversity of the landscape. Because of the park’s relatively compact size, this trip allows hikers to experience a remarkable range of scenery in just a few days.

Daily routes may vary slightly based on weather, trail conditions, and group ability, but the goal remains the same—to provide a safe, rewarding, and memorable hiking experience while exploring the very best of Arches National Park.

Day 1: Arches Highlights and Scenic Viewpoints

Trails:
Sand Dune Arch hike description
Broken Arch hike description
Skyline Arch hike description
Balanced Rock hike description

Hike distance:
For each arch we visit, there is a short hike ranging from approximately .5 to .8 miles roundtrip. These shorter hikes allow guests to explore several iconic formations on the first afternoon while easing into the trip.

Terrain:
Well-established desert trails, sandy paths, and short slickrock sections

Guests meet at the campground at 2:00 PM to check in, set up tents, and get settled into base camp. After a brief orientation and gear check, the group loads into the van and heads into the park at approximately 3:00 PM for the first afternoon of exploration.

Once inside the park, the group will stop at the visitor center to learn about the history, geology, and natural processes that created the park’s famous sandstone formations. This short visit helps guests better understand how arches form and what makes the landscape so unique before heading out onto the trails.

This introductory day focuses on several of the park’s classic landmarks, giving guests an immediate sense of the scenery and geology that define Arches. The shorter mileage makes this a comfortable start to the trip while still providing a memorable first experience in the park.

After returning to base camp, guests enjoy dinner and relax under the stars.

Day 2: Remote Arches and Expansive Desert Landscapes

Trails:
Tower Arch hike description
Windows Section hike description
Double Arch hike description
Courthouse Wash hike description

Hike distance:
Approximately 8–12 miles

Terrain:
Desert trails with sandy washes, rocky sections, and moderate elevation changes

Day two explores some of the more remote and scenic areas of the park. The hike to Tower Arch offers a sense of solitude and adventure, while the nearby formations in the Windows Section provide some of the most impressive arch scenery in the park.

Guests will also visit the massive span of Double Arch and explore sections of Courthouse Wash, where wide-open desert views and towering sandstone formations define the landscape.

After a full day of hiking, the group returns to base camp for dinner, relaxation, and another evening of stargazing.

Day 3: Devils Garden Primitive Loop Adventure

Trails:
Devils Garden Primitive Loop hike description
Pine Tree Arch hike description
Tunnel Arch hike description

Hike distance:
Approximately 8–10 miles

Terrain:
Slickrock, narrow ridgelines, rocky surfaces, and uneven desert terrain

Day three features one of the most adventurous hikes in the park—the famous primitive loop in Devils Garden. This route showcases a wide variety of terrain, including sandstone fins, narrow passages, and sweeping desert viewpoints.

Along the way, hikers pass several beautiful formations, including Pine Tree Arch and Tunnel Arch. This is often a guest favorite day, offering a sense of adventure and some of the most dramatic scenery in the park.

After returning to camp, guests enjoy their final evening together, sharing stories and relaxing after a rewarding day on the trail.

Day 4: Delicate Arch Finale and Departure

Trail:
Delicate Arch hike description

Hike distance:
Approximately 3–5 miles

Terrain:
Well-established trail with steady elevation gain and exposed slickrock sections

On the final morning, guests pack up camp and load their gear before driving their personal vehicles to Lions Park in Moab. From there, the group loads into the Colorado Mountain Expeditions van and heads into the park for the final hike to Delicate Arch, one of the most iconic landmarks in the American Southwest.

After completing the hike and enjoying time at the arch, the adventure concludes late in the morning, typically around noon.

Guests depart from the Moab area with lasting memories of their time exploring the remarkable landscapes of Arches National Park.

Yes—very common. Across our hiking, biking, and art trips, a large percentage of our guests sign up solo. These experiences are designed to bring together people who share a passion for the outdoors and adventure, so you’ll be joining a group of like-minded individuals from day one. Our guides foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that makes it easy to connect—whether you’re on the trail, or relaxing back at camp.

We also regularly have couples and small groups of friends join our trips, which adds to the overall dynamic and makes each group unique. No matter how people arrive, everyone quickly blends into one cohesive group. There’s no pressure—just a supportive, social atmosphere where you can engage as much or as little as you’d like.

By the end of the week, it’s common for solo travelers to leave with new friendships and future adventure partners. Many guests find that coming alone actually enhances the experience, giving them the opportunity to fully immerse themselves and meet new people along the way.
