For the hiker who would like to see what it is like to hike on The Colorado Trail, this is the easier section to hike. For some people nervous about camping, this section may be more appealing since four out of the six campsites are located in Forest Service Public Campgrounds, thus, making public toilets available. This section of The Colorado Trail is not very far from the highest Town in Colorado known as Leadville. It is also very diverse offering high altitude open meadows and low elevation sub- climates of sagebrush fields.
