Payment Terms, Cancellation and Refund Policies

Deposit $400 Upon Registration
2nd Payment $400

($800 total)
6 months prior to trip start date
Final Payment $450 for Treks 1-7A, 6B &7B  (total $1250)

$325 for Hermosa, AZ, NM Treks (total $1125)
60 days prior to trip start date

*failure to pay final payment at 60 days will result in loss of $800 prior payment


Colorado Trail (CT) Trips

Cancellations-more than 60 days before trip start -Client can transfer to another CT trip in current or following year for additional $100.  CME will transfer their $400 (or $800) deposit to the new trip when $100 is paid (payment must be made within 4 business days).
-Client can transfer to a non-CT trip for no additional fee.
-Clients find their own replacement– no additional fee.
-Client is replaced from CME Waitlist -$100 fee, remaining $300 (or $700) is refunded.
-Client forfeits $400 (OR $800) deposit if no replacement is found and no transfer is desired.
Cancellations within
14-60 days
-Client can transfer to another CT trip in current or following year for additional $200.  CME will transfer their $800 deposit (or full payment) to the new trip when $200 is paid (within 4 business days).
-Client can transfer to non-CT trip for no additional fee
-Clients find their own replacement– no additional fee.
-Client is replaced from CME Waitlist -$200 fee, remaining payment is refunded.
-Client forfeits full payment if no replacement is found and no transfer is desired.
Cancellations within
14 days
-Clients find their own replacement- no additional fee.
-Client is replaced from CME Waitlist- $400 fee, remaining payment is refunded.
-No replacement found – no refund.
-No transfers to another trip within 14 days of trip start.


Non-Colorado Trail Trips (NM, AZ, Hermosa)

Cancellations-more than 60 days before trip start -Client can transfer to another non-CT trip for no additional fee (no transfers to CT trips).
-Clients find their own replacement– no additional fee.
-Client is replaced from CME Waitlist -$100 fee, remaining payment is refunded.
-Client forfeits $400 (OR $800) deposit if no replacement is found and no transfer is desired.
